Ryde Liverpool

When three rugged, outdoor-loving friends decided to combine their favourite things, it could have gone horribly wrong.

They loved coffee. They loved getting their hands dirty. And they loved bikes. A mobile coffee bar boot camp and nail parlour didn’t make it past the brainstorming session.

A bike workshop serving great coffee and healthy brunches did. The three - an ex Royal Marine Commando injured in Afghanistan, a veteran running coach and outdoor activity instructor - pooled passions and purpose, and Ryde was born.

“We wanted to create something unique for Liverpool,” says Tasha Roks, of the space that sells freshly roasted lattes alongside latex inner tubes. While you sup, or munch on a bagel, they’ll even repair that cranky old chain, or soothe your errant gear ratio.

When they’re not doing that, they’re helping out at the Invicta Games, cycling to every Premier League ground from Goodison for charity, or competing in marathons around the globe.

Our advice? Don’t rock up there expecting high fives if you’ve managed to cycle up Jamaica Street without stopping.
