Liverpool, You’ve Got Style

London. Paris. New York. Yeah they’re good, but they’re not a patch on Liverpool. We’ve got real people with raw style and bags of attitude to pull it all off…and we’re going out there to capture you all to prove it.

This July, British Style Collective presented by The Clothes Show in association with Alcatel is coming to Liverpool for a citywide takeover of style. New dates, new city, new experience…

So ladies and gentleman, be sure to wear your most extraordinary outfit on the city’s streets, because It’s Liverpool and British Style Collective are about to shout about how damn good you look - just in time for the big finale in July. Hey, we aren’t the new Clothes Show host for nothin’…

Meet Kate

Age: 23

Occupation: Bartender and songstress

You’re here for a reason: you’ve got some crackin’ clobber! Where’s everything from?

Ooh okay, it’s hard to think where everything was bought from! These black high-waisted jeans are definitely from Missguided, this Polo neck is from New Look I think, my coat is from Oxfam and this scarf is from British Heart Foundation.

And your jewellery?

Oh it’s from all over really – vintage, markets and handmade varieties – but this is my Grandma’s necklace. It’s nice to have bits that really mean something.

Fashion Do:

Always accessorise! It’s so important, anything can look amazing with some accessorising.

Fashion Don’t:

Fingerless gloves. Just WHY? They don’t serve a purpose…it’s not as if your palms get colder than your fingers, is it?

What do you reckon influences your style?

Nothing too drastic. I like simple items and I’m always up for a bargain – it’s great when someone says ‘ooh I like that’ and I can say, ‘this was only 50p!’. Bold Street has plenty of items you can say that about.

What’s your go-to when you can’t think of what to wear?

I usually just ask my housemate which can lead to borrowing and very rarely returning…oops.

Last thing you bought?

This scarf for £3.50 from British Heart Foundation on Bold Street! Made. Up.

Most prominent colour in your wardrobe?

Black. Although I’m hardly wearing it today, must be a full moon or something.

In hell they’ll make me wear:

Oh Jesus (no pun intended), I’m not sure…probably a velour tracksuit. Just something that absolutely no one can pull off - and velour is definitely on that list.

Liverpool Style in 3 words:

Unique. Diverse. Sassy.

(Oh, and did we mention she’s got multi-coloured hair?! AMAZING)
