Ladies and gentleman, be sure to wear your most extraordinary outfit on the city’s streets, because It’s Liverpool and British Style Collective are about to shout about how damn good you look – just in time for the big finale in July. Hey, we aren’t the new Clothes Show host for nothin’…

Meet Malik

Name: Malik Thomas

Age: 24

Occupation: Graphic designer & Illustrator

You’re here for a reason: you’ve got some crackin’ clobber! Where’s everything from?

Top: MKI Miyuki-Zoku

Jeans: River Island

Trainers: Adidas Yeezy Boost 350 V2

Fashion Do: Keep everything fairly simple and take a less is more approach with your outfit. If the weather allows you, try to layer your clothes and choose a minimal pair of trainers to match your style.

Fashion Don’t: Don’t go overboard with expensive brands and style something that’s unauthentic to you. There’s nothing worse than high-end fashion paired with sportswear like jogger bottoms.

What do you reckon influences your style?

I’m influenced by the craftsmanship and production found in Japanese street wear culture - there’s more focus on materials over there, which is great. I try to pair this with classic American silhouettes for a more casual look.

What’s your go-to when you can’t think of what to wear?

I’ll usually go with a pair of raw selvage denim jeans and match it with a neutral coloured sweatshirt or tee.

What’s your most favourite item in your wardrobe?

A.P.C. Merino wool sweater.

Most embarrassing item you ever owned?

Adidas Safety camouflage jacket - it was very loud.

Last thing you bought?

Crep Protect spray from Footasylum.

Most prominent colour in your wardrobe?

Navy / black

In hell they’ll make me wear:

Anything produced by OFF-WHITE.

Liverpool Style in 3 words:

Wardrobe essential?

A good quality bomber jacket that’s slim cut.

Style icon:

Hiroshi Fujiwara.

Dream designer:

Jean Touitou.

My secret to looking good is…

Cocoa butter.
