Hello, Hardman Yard

Hello, Hardman Yard

OK, we’re going to let you into a little secret. We’ve got a new favourite part of Liverpool. It’s got places to eat and drink, it’s tucked away and hidden and *whispers* there’s an awesome garden for the summer. We’ve going to share our best places in Hardman Yard just, please, don’t tell EVERYONE, yeah?

Oktopus at Hardman Yard

It started as a pop-up and we couldn’t have been happier when restaurant Oktopus found a permanent home on Hardman Street. Launched by the gang behind Black Lodge Brewery in the Baltic Triangle it makes some of the most delicious food you’ll eat in Liverpool. There’s room for about 60 diners and every dish on the menu is seasonal. Head chef Christopher Ineston – who used to be the head chef at our other fave places Maray and the Clove Hitch, is creating dishes that’ll work with Black Lodge Brewery beers. The kitchen says they work with a handful of really excellent regional producers, from farmers to fisherman and the focus is on excellent ingredients.

Buyer’s Club

Buyers Club at Hardman Yard

It’s a bar, music venue and an off licence, plus it has a garden. It’s the perfect place to go for a tasty bite or a cocktail (there’s a great choice of drinks at the bar). When it’s sunny the garden is a gorgeous, tucked away little haven. You’ll also find that there’s some great bands on here and music nights of all genres. Sometimes they’ll use the garden, other times the club room and you’ll always find it’s a great place to party.

The Wild Loaf

This little bakery is much more than bread and doughnuts – it’s art. A place of true doughy passion where no two loaves are the same, the little independent bakery specialises in sourdough and brings so much happiness into the lives of those who frequent the yard. Serving up amazing coffee too, The Wild Loaf’s loyal masses rave about the summer fruit doughnuts – we’re drooling at the thought.

Nearby …

And it isn’t just Hardman Yard. There’s some gorgeous places nearby too in Liverpool’s blossoming restaurant district.

92 Degrees

92 Degrees

One of the best places to get a coffee in Liverpool. It’s a speciality roastery and coffee shop where you can sit back, relax and enjoy a cracking cup of joe. They have exhibitions on by artists, and often tie in with festivals happening around the city. Grab a seat by the window and watch the world go by.

A bright, delicious, pan-asian restaurant on Hope Street that offers big bowls, food to share and curry. We especially love the pork belly, and crispy squid. The sweet chilli mayo is incredible and the chicken satay with peanut dip is possibly one of the most moreish things we’ve ever eaten.

The Quarter

An italian inspired independent eatery on the cobbled Falkner Street, you can get delicious takeaway food from the Quarter, or sit in and enjoy a bite in the bright and airy restaurant. There are plenty of tables on the street for a little al fresco dining when it’s fine. The pizzas are especially good and the cakes are both Instagram worthy and delicious, so win win!
